Jon Brion - Meaningless (2001)

You should love Jon Brion. If not for Aimee Mann or Fiona Apple, then for Kanye West. If not for them, then for the soundtracks to films like Magnolia and Eternal Sunsine Of The Spotless Mind. He learned to play guitar by trying to emulate commercial jingles on television while sitting on a couch. His Club Largo improv shows in LA are epic. Somehow, after all his genius, this is his only solo album (after being part of a short lived band) - and it's not on a major label, or even in stores... I think that's the way he wants it. True pop genius here.
