At first I wanted to sweep this under the rug as regular indie pop. Then, when that obviously didn't suffice, I wanted to call it an exploration of the orgone within the acoustic parts of Moon & Antartica by Modest Mouse, but that only got me through a couple songs. The singer is punctual and gentle, but I just can't put my finger on it... He's like a codiened out Neutral Milk Hotel, but that's giving too much credit. Parts sound like a dream-scape childhood birthday party, but that doesn't cut it either. Anyhow, you see my conundrum. It is good, though. Very suprising victory for Sub Pop.
