These guys, at least for this album, were so far ahead of the curve it's unbelievable that they don't get more credit. They stayed on point lyrically (reminiscent of Grandmaster Flash on The Message), and the beats still get jacked today (Friends has been redone so many times it's ridiculous). Five Minutes Of Funk, Friends, Freaks Come Out At Night, and Escape are as good as any pre-90's hip-hop gets.
