Grizzly Bear - Sorry For The Delay (2006)

This is, for all intents and purposes, the more appropriate return post.

Grizzly Bear is the shit. That's all there really is to it. Yellow House was/is a classic (if you haven't listened in a while, go back. You'll be well-served to know it hasn't aged one bit), and their cover of He Hit Me is incomparable. So, after having downloaded this sometime last year and not having ever seen a hard copy on shelves, it surprised me greatly to find it on vinyl randomly. This has the same tone as Yellow House and Friend, and contains a killer version of Owner Of A Lonely Heart. I can not wait for their new album.

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III (2008)

Okay, so he isn't the best rapper alive. And, while I hyped it as such amongst friends early on, it isn't the best album this year so far. But it is as solid a mainstream rap release as any the last three years has seen. His flows are absolutely nuts, and while the beats aren't as illinear as his raps (Swizz Beats just jacks a whole David Axelrod track for Dr. Carter... though Swizzy deserves credit. It's a long journey from the Best Buy Casio keyboard line on Ruff Ryder Anthem to sampling Axelrod), Wayne makes them work - all the while covering topics like fixing wack mc's, getting licked like a lollipop, having sex with female police officers, and how the world needs compassion.

I realize this is kind of a weak first post back, as most of any interested parties already have this, there are always some late arrivals to the party. Plus I upped the bonus disc, so whatevs.

i know, i suck. i've been working 65 hours a week, and haven't even really been listening to music. i recieved a gang of sweet demos, which i DO plan on getting up here, as well as posting new albums. i haven't forgot about this at all. hopefully work slows down and i get some more time. hope all is well with you guys!
