ReplyDeleteI had the distinct opportunity to see the lovely Ms. Newsom play with the Austin Symphony Orchestra back in November. The first hour of the show was dedicated to performing Ys in its entirety. After a brief intermission, Joanna returned to the stage with just the Ys Street Band to play selections from Milk Eyed Mender, "Colleen," and a couple of new songs. It was a beautiful experience, so I hope that you get a chance to attend the Chicago performance.

I went to that show last night. It was very good. I tried to get her autograph afterward but couldn't find her.
ReplyDeleteJoanna Newsom is so different, she was strongly influenced by polyrhythms.so I think that she can be more popular if the get a agreement with an important sponsor, well I think that the album is so cool.
